Elizabeth Baxter-Lalar (pronounced “Lay-lor”, rhymes with “Taylor”) is an author, playwright and artist who lives in Toronto, Canada with her husband and daughter. A love for reading and a firm commitment to her faith ultimately led her to fulfilling her desire to inspire others by writing this book. First created as a poem written for an English class assignment Lord, Teach Me How later developed into a manuscript complete with scriptural references to be shared with the world. Her hope is that others too will expand their faith by reading, studying and the power of prayer.
A collection of prayers asking God for help and instruction, each stanza of Lord, Teach Me How carries a heartfelt ask, intended to help the reader become a better version of themselves. Whether it’s help with learning how to be patient, more loving, more forgiving, or more cheerful, the book provides a matching biblical reference that encourages these characteristics and traits in a humble, simplistic prayerful way. Written in an easy to read poetry style, the rhyming words can help build the vocabulary of smaller children, or encourage a deeper study of the scriptures that reinforces these attributes for older readers.
